Sailing year round, the Allen Gardiner Harbour Cruise Restaurant is designed to provide a different and exciting fine-dining experience. The vessel cruises the calm waters of Durban Harbour during which freshly-prepared fine foods are served.. Although the harbour is the busiest port in the Southern Hemisphere, with over 20 ocean-going ship movements per day, it is also a place of hidden treasures such as mangrove swamps and abundant wildlife (including pelicans) in a protected conservation habitat.
The Allen Gardiner was built in 1942 by the Miami Shipbuilding Corporation at Miami in Florida USA. She is 63 feet long, over 46 tons gross register and is an historic wooden vessel. With a maximum of 45 passengers on our cruises, there is plenty of space, both on deck and in the elegant dining saloon.
The Allen Gardiner is licenced for 50 passengers, but depending on the cruise, usually takes a maximum of 45 passengers, accommodated on deck and in the elegant dining saloon. For formal dining around the Saloon table a maximum of 20 persons is recommended. Cruises operate all year round, including Christmas Day.
A 10% service charge is added to all prices. Cash, Mastercard, Visa and Debit Cards are accepted. The Allen Gardiner is available for private charter or individuals may book independently sharing with other passengers.

American-style Brunch
The 3-course American style brunch is for 20 (formal seated brunch) to 45 (informal brunch). You will be welcomed aboard with a glass of fresh orange juice, and your 3-course brunch is complete with a full English breakfast plus hash brown potatoes, and, later in the cruise, hot muffins, apple pie and cream are served on deck The all-inclusive price for the two and a half hour cruise, the orange juice on arrival and 3-course brunch is R145 per person. Private charter continental breakfast - times negotiable - R125 per person; 12 to 45 persons.
A La Carte Lunch & Candlelit Dinner
Taking up to 20 passengers. The Lunch cruise is from 12noon to 3.00pm. The Dinner cruise is from 7pm to 10pm. Main courses are from R52, other courses from R20 and a fully-stocked bar is available throughout the cruise. Minimum main course at least will be charged for. The 3 hour cruise itself is R60 per person Mon-Thur, then a supplementary charge of R15 for Friday, Saturday, Sunday or high season. Private charters are available.
Fork Lunch & Dinner
A three hour cruise catering for between 21 and 45 persons, during which a two course meal is served, with choices from the a la carte menu suitable for eating with just a fork. A fully stocked bar is available throughout the cruise. The Fork menu is from R125, max 45 passengers.
Champagne Sunset
You will be welcomed aboard with a glass of champagne, and the fully-stocked bar is open throughout the 2 ˝ hour cruise. Throughout the course of the cruise the galley crew will bring trays of hot and cold canapés (finger snacks) to wherever you are seated, whether on deck or in the saloon. The all-inclusive price for the two-and-a-half hour cruise, the glass of champagne on arrival and the canapés is R125 per person, max 45 passengers.
